About our Church
Daws Heath Evangelical Church is situated in the heart of the semi rural village of Daws Heath, in between Thundersley and Hadleigh in South East Essex. The present building was open for worship in 1976 but Christians have been meeting in this area to worship God since 1851.
We exist to glorify God by worshipping Him together, living our lives according to His word the Bible and making Him known to others by proclaiming the good news to others that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. We call ourselves reformed because we believe in the great truths proclaimed by the protestant reformers.
Our services are simple usually lasting around an hour and a quarter. They consist of reverent worship which includes the singing of traditional hymns from the 1977 edition of Christian Hymns or our own hymn book called Evangelical Hymnal, prayer, Scripture reading and a sermon. We use the Authorised Version of the Bible in all our services because we believe it is the most faithful and God honouring translation of the Bible available in English but no prior knowledge of the Bible is necessary for you to come along.
Our services are led either by our minister, Mr Chris Banks or visiting preachers who come from likeminded churches in various parts of the country and from different denominations or church affiliations.
Why not come along next Sunday? You can be sure of a warm welcome if you do.
